NEW MEXICO - Will compete for a position in the outfield and could be used in speed situations. SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007) - Used primarily as a pinch runner but had her best career game against Eastern New Mexico on March 27...she went 2-for-2 against the Zias with an RBI and a run scored...stole a base and scored five runs during the season. FRESHMAN SEASON (2006) - Played in 38 games and made one start...had four at-bats and collected her first collegiate hit on April 13, 2006, against BYU in the second game of a doubleheader...went 1-for-4 with 17 runs scored and two stolen bases. HIGH SCHOOL - A letterwinner in softball, volleyball and basketball at Manzano High School in Albuquerque...was coached by Art Samora...was named second team all-district as Manzano's left fielder in 2003 and made second team all-district again in 2004 as a utility player...as a senior she made second team all-district as the Monarchs' starting shortstop...played on the North All-Star team as a senior...was named first team all-district as an outside hitter in volleyball...named the 2004 Albuquerque Journal Fall Athlete of the Year...honored as Manzano High School's 2004-05 Female Athlete of the Year...made the all-academic first team and was on the Honor Roll. PERSONAL - Born August 13, 1987, in Albuquerque, N.M...parents are Russ Carter and Pat and Bill Fishburn...has one sister, Jessica Pool, married to Mike Pool...favorite food is pasta...favorite athlete is Ivan Rodriguez...greatest thrill playing in sports is meeting and becoming friends with all the great players and just being a part of it all...plans to major in Speech Pathology. |
