Former walk-on who has been a solid utility man for the Lobos, playing quarterback, receiver and special teams during his young career...came to UNM as a QB in 2005, but moved to WR full-time during the spring of '06...moved back under center in the spring of '07...not a classic drop-back passer, but is probably the most athletic QB on the team and easily the strongest...set position records in the bench press (385) and incline press (320) during the spring and also led the group with a 395 squat...was given a scholarship after redshirt season in `05...older cousin is Toronto Blue Jays All-Star centerfielder Vernon Wells.

A 2005 graduate of Denver Montbello where he was honorable mention all-league as a senior...threw for more than 1,600 yards...played for head coach Oliver Lucas...a member of the school's 4 x 200-meter relay team that took first in state in 2005...also on the Honor Roll.
