As some of you may know, we just finished our first Lobo Boys Basketball Camp and it was a big success. In the morning from 9-Noon we worked with grades 1-6 and in the afternoon we had a session for grades 7-12. This was a great time to teach all the youth about the fundamentals in basketball and show them the skills to become future Lobos.

Thursday night after camps were finished, my father and I jumped into my car and headed up to Tiny's Restaurant and Lounge to speak to some coaches from Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. Bob Tedrow helped organize the event and J.R. from Tiny's did a great job of taking care of us with the food.

This was my first chance to get up to Santa Fe, NM and speak to some great supporters of Lobo Basketball. As the head coach for Lobo Basketball, I feel that it is very important that we get out and visit different parts of the state. The state of New Mexico is Lobo Country and we want our program to be accessible to everyone. We want fans to come see us play in The Pit so we need to make sure we are doing our part to get them there.

Coach Alford speaks at a recent event in Santa Fe.
