Lobos In First Place With 15-10 Win Over UNLV

Senior Adam Skelton picked up his second win of the season in relief today as the University of New Mexico baseball team came from behind to beat UNLV, 15-10, at Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas. Senior Matt Hibbitts led the Lobos offensively, going 5-for-5 from the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. With the win UNM is now tied with TCU at the top of the Mountain West Conference standings with a 16-5 MWC record. The Lobos are 32-20 overall. UNLV is now 20-32 overall and 8-13 in MWC action.

Lobos Beat UNLV, 7-4

For the second game in a row the University of New Mexico baseball team came from behind to beat UNLV, this time 7-4 on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas. Junior right fielder Brian Cavazos-Galvez became the second Lobo in two days to hit a game-winning triple to give UNM the lead for good. Cavazos-Galvez finished the game 1-for-4 with a run scored, a sacrifice fly and three RBI.

Lobos Take UNLV In Extra Innings, 6-5

Senior Ian Hollick hit a triple down the right field line in the top of the 10th to score Mike Brownstein and gave the University of New Mexico baseball team a 6-5 win over UNLV on Friday night at Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas. The Lobos improved to 30-20 overall and 14-5 in Mountain West Conference action, while UNLV dropped to 20-30 and 8-11.

Moore Named Academic All-District; Lobos Travel To UNLV

    Junior Bobby Moore was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VI Team today by CoSIDA ... The Lobos head to Las Vegas for a three-game series with UNLV, May 9-11 ... Game times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, all Mountain Time.

    Brownstein Named MWC Player of the Week

    Junior second baseman Mike Brownstein becomes the fifth Lobo baseball player to earn the league's weekly honor in 2008. Brownstein and the Lobos took two of three games at BYU last week to stay in the hunt for the 2008 Mountain West Conference championship.
