182 Lobos Honored For Work In The Classroom

The University of New Mexico Athletics Department recently honored 182 Lobo student-athletes at the Fifth Annual Student-Athlete Academic Awards Celebration. Student-athletes were recognized for excellence in the classroom by maintaining a 3.20 or higher cumulative grade point average and excellence as active members of their team. 16 student-athletes are currently maintaining a 4.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.

New Mexico Ski Team Announces Post-Season Awards

The University of New Mexico ski team presented its annual post-season awards recently at its annual banquet held at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The team also spent the evening thanking team supporters and support staff for a successful season.

Ohlin and Schwab Earn All-America Honors

University of New Mexico skiers Karin Ohlin and Thomas Schwab earned All-America honors today for their Top 10 finishes in the women's and men's slalom competition at the NCAA Ski Championships at Bridger Bowl, Mont. The Lobos finished the 2008 meet in seventh place with 404 points.

Ermoshina Is National Runner-Up; Hellebostad Earns All-America Honors

Polina Ermoshina and Tor-Hakon Hellebostad earned All-America honors today for their Top 10 finishes in the women's and men's Nordic classical races at the 2008 NCAA National Championship Meet. It is Ermoshina's third career All-America honor and second this season. For Hellebostad, it is his first All-America honor as a Lobo.

Lobo Ski Team Moves Up To Seventh At NCAAs

Malin Hemmingsson picked up her second career All-America honor by placing seventh today in the women's giant slalom at the 2008 NCAA Championships. Hemmingsson, a sophomore from Ostersund, Sweden, finished the two runs with a combined time of 1:47.23. It is her first All-America honor in the giant slalom.
