Competition Highlights: Over the past few years, Marla has competed in both Poly Hockey and Softball. Since 2005, Marla has made three appearances at the State Poly Hockey Championships with her team the Rio Rancho Rockets. In 2005, she joined the Jocks and Cops softball team, helping lead the team to a Gold medal. In 2007, Marla co-emceed the Special Olympics State Summer Games in Albuquerque with popular radio personality Levi With of 92.3 KRST, marking the first time in Special Olympics New Mexico history that an athlete co-emceed a State Summer Games.

French Mortuary has been celebrating life in our community for 100 years this year. They are strong supporters of UNM student athletes and Special Olympics because each of them shares common values with French: commitment to one's best, courage, honor, integrity and teamwork.
