Senior WR Travis Brown (West Covina, Calif.) posted a career-high 10 catches for 121 yards and a career-best 2 TDs in the Lobos' 29-27 victory at Arizona. It was UNM's first ever road win against a Pac-10 opponent and the first victory over a Pac-10 foe in 28 years, since beating Oregon State in Albuquerque in 1979. New Mexico had lost its last nine game against the Pac-10.
Brown's first TD was a 6-yard strike from Donovan Porterie that capped a 16-play, 80-yard drive to open the game. His second score was a a 38-yard grab with 3 seconds left in the first half, which is the longest TD of his career. It gave New Mexico a 14-13 lead, momentum into the locker room at halftime, and the Lobos would never trail again.
Brown recorded his second straight 100-yard receiving effort and the 4th of his career. He moved into 8th place on the UNM career receptions list (121) and 12th (1,413) in career receiving yards. Brown also extended his consecutive games with a reception streak to 28 straight.
