Redshirt freshman setter Jade Michaelsen is this week's Qwest Student-Athlete of the Week. Michaelsen led the Lobos in their first road win over No. 23 BYU on Saturday, Oct. 6, since 1995. In the 3-1 win in Provo, Michaelsen earned her second double-double of the season with 38 assists and 11 digs. She just missed the team's first triple double of the season with 7 kills and 4 blocks.

Against Utah, the night before, the Lobos lost by the bare minimum in a tight 3-0 match. Michaelsen kept the Lobos in the match with her first double-double of the season, 27 assists and a career-high 12 digs. She also had 3 kills and 5 blocks.

New Mexico is now 13-5 overall and 4-2 in Mountain West action, currently tied for second in the league.
