Dawn Martinez is in her 16th year at the University of New Mexico and her seventh with the UNM Athletic Advisement Office. Martinez worked in the Registrar's Office processing grades, assisting in overseeing residency requirements, and verifying student records. She also assisted in the certification of all student-athletes at UNM.
Part of Martinez' duties include academic advisement for men's basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming, women's soccer, and skiing. Comprehensive academic advisement and ensuring compliance with NCAA, Mountain West, and university academic eligibility requirements are part of her job.
Martinez graduated from UNM in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in university studies with a concentration in sociology. Dawn and her husband, Marvin, were married in April of 2001. They have a son, Nick, who was born in August of 2003.
